Cleo van Zelst has been a horse addict since soon after her birth in Amsterdam. Her non-horsey parents encouraged and supported her dreams to ride, compete and eventually purchase her own horse farm. She operates Equutopia, a lessons and training barn in Remington and works as the area sales rep for McCauley Bros, Inc. horse feeds and supplements.

Cleo learned a lot about riding and training from Thoroughbreds and has a special affinity for that breed. She has rescued and rehabilitated horses and ponies of all breeds as well as other animals. She has a BS in Psychology with an English minor from Virginia Tech. Her hobbies include reading, writing and gardening.
