JUNE 2008 - "WHINNY"

Whinny came into my life in 1997. He had a short racing career and then went on to another owner for a short period of time before I purchased him. Whinny and I enjoy eventing, dressage, jumping, trail riding (both judged and pleasure), hunters and barrel racing. He has also "tried his hoof" at western pleasure, parades and sidesaddle! Whinny had a competitive show career with Bonnie. From 2002-2005, he won many Year End and Championship awards, including a Year End 6th place in the Crystal Crown Judged Pleasure Ride Series, a Year End Champion for CDCTA, 2nd place in the Clifton Horse Society's Proteus competition, and multiple Champions in hunter/jumpers, thus proving that Thoroughbreds are very versatile! Whinny recently moved to southwest VA where he is king of almost 12 acres overlooking the Appalachian mountains. He has made friends with a herd of deer that visit in the early mornings and evenings. Since celebrating his 16th birthday this year, he has been enjoying long trail rides through the mountains and taking afternoon naps in the sun. He loves treats, especially carrots and sugar cubes. He also loves having his belly scratched, and anywhere else his long neck can't reach! Whinny is Bonnie's very best friend and has taken care of her when she was going through a rough time with her health. Whinny has earned a lifelong home with Bonnie.
